New Years Resolution!!!

Okay so I am not a fan of resolutions because they are almost all superficial. They are about losing weight or whatever else. I understand that one, but I think that people need to put more thought into it. I have heard people say that they are going to read the Book of Mormon all the way through. That is a great one! I already set that goal about a month ago. I have a hard time understanding what it is I am reading so I started reading the Book of Mormon Made Easy. I LOVE IT!!! So I cannot use that as a resolution. I started thinking about other things to help better myself in the eyes of the Lord (sorry to anyone who is not religious). Well a couple weeks ago I was at church and they need people to sign up for cleaning the Visitors Center at the Temple. I am not sure why but I volunteered. When I went there, there was a devotional that was done by the supervisor. It was great. I felt like he was talking right to me. Just a little insight it was about remembering that everything we have is from God. That we would not be able to breath if it weren't for Him. I had a blessing a few days before that and I was told that I needed to be patient and that the closer I grow to Him the sooner I will have what I am waiting for. The devotional talked about other things that I am not going to put in here since it really struck home with me and almost made me cry. These things are not for just anyone to know!!! So after we cleaned and I was at home I started to think about how it made me feel. I decided that it was time to start giving of myself and my time to the Lord. I do not have a lot of time once school and work start back up but I am going to make sure that I spend time atleast once a week doing service for others. How can I ask for things from the Lord if I am not giving him anything in return? I am only asking for one thing from Him but it is pretty huge so I think I have a lot of service to do :)

Great days start with a great attitude.

Perfect days happen only when we allow them to.

True happiness starts in the mirror. When you look at yourself and smile, you know there is something good in you. It is easy to make others smile. It is the smile you give yourself, when your alone, that shows you are happy. My mirror is always smiling back at me now.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
Helen Keller

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. Winston Churchhill

Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anyone else expects of you. Never excuse yourself.

Just beautiful flowers

Quotes of the day.

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing int he world to do. But to hold it together when everyone would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires great strength to decide what to do.

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible to you.

Quotes of the day!

Men best show their character in trifles, where they are not on their guard. It is in the simplest habits, that we often see the boundless egotism which pays no regard to the feelings of others and denies nothing to itself.
-Arthur Schopenhauer

Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us.

: )

I got her back last night! She is so wonderful. Although she cried the entire ride, she was happy to see Crissy when we got home. She was awake bright and early this morning and ready to go see her friends at the daycare. I love my little girl!
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few; and let those be well-tried before you give them your confidence. -George Washington

Moab trip

My baby

Shaelyn is with her dad and I miss her tons. She will be with him for Halloween and get to miss out. I just have to remind myself that she is mine for Christmas! I am glad I get to talk to her everyday she is gone, though. I miss her and cannot wait till Monday when she comes home.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions—the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss, a smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment in the disguise of a playful raillery, and the countless other infinitessimals of pleasurable thought and genial feeling.

IT’S TIME!
By Ray Madaghiele
2:00am September 15, 2001
It’s time that we understand our role as stewards of this planet -
That we respect and honor the delicate balance of our world.
It’s time that we realize, “We are all one people” –
That separateness is an illusion and that, in truth, we are all connected.
It’s time that we see past the veil of illusion called separateness,
and understand just how connected we really are -
That we are all made from the same substance of the universe,
and by harming another we are only harming ourselves.
It’s time we see past the color of one’s skin or the name of one’s God -
That we realize we are merely traveling parallel paths leading up the same mountain.
It’s time that we stop searching for happiness outside ourselves -
That we turn our attention inward and tune in to the calm peace of our souls.
It’s time, if we see something in the world that needs to be changed,
That we do as Gandhi suggested, “Be the change you wish to see.”
It’s time that we take responsibility for making the world a better place -
That we strengthen the foundation of our communities by being of good character.
It’s time that we ask, “How can I make a difference?” -
That we leave this world in a little better shape than when we arrived.
It’s time that we listen to each other with empathy and compassion -
That we overcome the fear in our minds so that we can experience the love in our hearts.
It’s time that we get past ego and discover our innate spiritual essence -
That we release our selfish desires and serve humankind unconditionally, with love.
It’s time that we “Love all, serve all” -
That we be at peace.
IT’S TIME!
